This young couple would've never imagined that a simple grout sealing service in Rockville, MD, would be a determining factor in landing their dream home. About a month ago, they decided to go house hunting to find a place to call home and start a family.

They already owned a tiny condo, but it didn't have enough space for a soon-to-be-growing family. After looking at several houses, they finally found a place that fit the bill. It was the right size, and it was in a nice neighborhood and a good school district. In short, it was their dream home. The only problem was the cost. It was a bit more expensive than what they had initially hoped to spend, so they knew they had to get the best possible price out of their condo in order to buy the house.

After dusting, cleaning, and putting a fresh coat of paint on nearly every inch of the condo, there was one room that they simply couldn't fix: the bathroom. They tried every do-it-yourself method they could find and even tried putting vinegar on the tiles. However, everything they did failed miserably!

The couple thought they would need to completely renovate the bathroom, which would make it hard for them to afford their dream home. A couple of days later, one of their neighbors offered them a solution: Sir Grout Washington DC Metro's grout sealing service. He had hired us before and was very happy with the results.

Since the couple had never heard of this type of service before, they decided to look us up on Google. After checking out our website, reading a couple of reviews, and learning that we had won several service awards, they decided to contact us for a free, in-home evaluation.

The Evaluation

Our specialists arrived at the couple's condo and immediately examined the area in question. After a quick but thorough inspection, our experts found traces of mold and stains all over the grout and caulk lines, which had prevented the couple from restoring the room themselves.

The thing about mold is that it spreads through airborne spores, which makes it particularly hard to get rid of. You might think that you can solve the problem with a little cleaning here and there. However, once the spores find another damp surface, they will reattach themselves and start spreading within 48 hours. This is a common problem in bathrooms because they offer the perfect environment for mold to thrive: humidity, poor lighting and ventilation, and plenty of organic material.

After explaining all of this to the young couple, our experts recommended using ColorSeal on the grout lines. They also told them that ColorSeal would seal the grout lines and provide long-lasting protection from moisture, stains, and dirt. They assured them that the bathroom would look brand new after they were done.

The young couple were relieved that they did not have to tear out the entire bathroom to get rid of the problem. Our simple procedure could end up saving them the money they needed to get their dream home.

The Restoration

On the day of the appointment, our team of experts returned to the condo and were ready for the task ahead. They started the cleaning process by applying some of our very own non-toxic, pH-neutral cleaners to the tiles. Afterwards, they used a high-speed scrubber, which gently got rid of all the dirt. Next, they used a vapor steam cleaner to remove all traces of mold.

Finally, our technicians applied Sir Grout's proprietary product, ColorSeal, to the grout lines to bring back their original look and make them resistant to stains, water, mold, and mildew. Plus, they removed the old caulk and replaced it with epoxy caulk to keep mold away.

The Results

The young couple was happy with the results. Their bathroom looked brand new, which helped raise its value. Not long after we finished, the couple told us that they had sold the condo and were now living in their dream house.
