This Delicate Porcelain Floor Was Revamped with a Professional Grout Recoloring Service in Arlington, VA
January 18, 2017This Virginia resident was looking for a professional grout recoloring company in Arlington that could fix her home's floor; she had recently noticed that it looked dull and dusty. She asked one of her close friends for recommendations; coincidentally, he had recently hired Sir Grout Washington DC Metro's local tile cleaning and sealing services. He was so happy with the results that he didn't hesitate to recommend us. He gave the homeowner our contact information and explained that we perform all kinds of hard surface restoration jobs and offer a free evaluation and quote. So, the homeowner decided to call us and set up an appointment for an evaluation and estimate.
On the day of the evaluation, we inspected the floor she wanted us to fix. It was a delicate-looking porcelain tile floor; however, it was dull, worn down, and in need of a professional restoration service. The tiles didn't have any major stains, but foot traffic and improper cleaning had allowed a layer of dirt to build up, which made the tiles and the grout lines look dark and discolored. To solve the problem, we proposed a three-step plan: we would clean and seal the tile, and then we would recolor the grout to restore the beauty of this delicate porcelain floor. We explained that our tile cleaning and sealing services are a cost-effective solution that gets rid of all the dirt that regular cleaning cannot handle, protects tiles and grout, and makes it more easy to clean them. She agreed to the estimate and approved the plan of action, so we set a new date to carry out the work.
On the date set for the job, we started to deep clean the tile and grout by applying a non-toxic cleaner and using a high-speed scrubber, which is gentle on the floor yet effective in removing dirt. Through this process, we were able to remove all the dirt that had accumulated on the tiles and grout. The grout was in good shape, so no repairs were necessary. Therefore, we proceeded to apply ColorSeal to the grout lines, giving them a fresh, uniform color. Our proprietary ColorSeal process recolors grout and leaves it looking like new again. More importantly, ColorSeal makes grout stain-, water-, mold-, and mildew-resistant. After all the grout lines were recolored, we buffed on Tile Armor, which is another of our proprietary products. Tile Armor seals and protects tile and grout against stains and spills. Both ColorSeal and Tile Armor are non-toxic and safe for the entire family, including pets.
Thanks to the services performed, the porcelain floor recovered its original, elegant look. After we finished the job, we explained to the homeowner what she needed to do to keep her floors looking great. We explained that tile floors need frequent vacuuming to remove loose dirt and dust, preventing them from building up on the floor. They also told her that she should always apply a pH-neutral, soapless cleaner, letting it soak for five minutes, and then mopping as usual. The team advised her to not air-dry the floor and to remove all the dirty water and cleaner residue with a dry terry cloth instead. In the end, our client was happy with the results, and she thanked us for our recommendations.
